Pickleball Comes to Town (and TCE!!!)

Until recently, the word "pickleball" might have drawn puzzled looks in most parts of India and certainly in Madurai. But not anymore!!! In the past few weeks, this writer discovered that at least three locations in Madurai have introduced pickleball court.The most recent addition? A brand-new court at our college. This morning, the campus witnessed the formal inauguration of a Pickleball Court at the Openair Auditorium The event was graced by Dr. (Capt.) Augustus Samuel Dodd, a former Medical Officer of the Indian Army, surgeon.The ceremony was presided over by Dr. L. Ashok kumar, Principal. INNOVAMATH'25 – Where Mathematics Meets Innovation

The Department of Mathematics, is organizing an exciting and engaging event: INNOVAMATH'25. This event invites  teams to present mathematical models that reflect not only theoretical concepts but also real-world problems with engineering applications. INNOVAMATH'25 is  scheduled for April 8, 2025. It  has already received enthusiastic involvement from 27 teams which consist of over 50 students from different departments. 61st Sports Day Overview: Teachers' Sports Meet and Introduction to the Event

The 61st sports day of Thiagarajar College of Engineering is set to take place on Friday, March 28, 2025. On this occasion, all students who have won prizes—both individually and as part of a team—will receive their awards. Department-wide achievements will also be recognized. The prizes will be distributed by Mr. G. E. Sridharan, former indian volleyball player and recipient of the Arjuna Award. About the Chief Guest IN PICTURE:- Mr. G.E Sridharan A former Indian volleyball player and coach,  Mr Sridharan represented India in international tournaments from the late 1970s to the late 1980s.  He was honured with the Arjuna Award in 1982 by the goverment of India. A fter retiring as a player, he became a successful ch, leading the Indian junior men's volleyball team to multiple victories, including a gold medal at the 2003 Asian Youth Championship and a silver at the 2004 World Youth Championship.  His coaching success earned him the Dronacharya Award in 2007.
